  • hug those you love
  • make a handmade gift
  • tip your waitress more than you usually would

operation NICE.

{images via mel829}

I just recently came across this website: operation NICE. It is dedicated solely to the purpose of spreading niceness. I think we all tend to get caught up in our own lives that we often forget to be nice to the people around us. But wouldn't life be so much better if we all smiled and were kind to everyone we came in contact with? I think the answer to that is yes. :)

under the weather.

i've been under the weather for the past two days, running a temperature above 100. so, i can't really think of anything brilliant to write about today. lots of people i know and love are sick right now...so please, everyone, feel better.

and thank you, husband, for taking care of me...bringing me food & drink, telling me to rest and helping clean the house while i've been sick. every new day i get to spend with you, i am continually blessed.

one of our favorite couples: thorne & laura

Last week I had the joy of getting to go out with this lovely couple and take some fun pictures of them. Laura and Thorne are two of Jonathan and my best friends from college. They were in our wedding party before they were even a couple, and now it makes us oh-so-happy that they are together and so in love.

Here are some of my favorite images from their shoot:

If you want to see the rest of the images from their shoot, click here. We had lots of fun!

these are a few of my favorite things {when it's raining}

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

  • wearing my polka dotted rain boots and splashing in the puddles
  • kissing my husby underneath our extra large family umbrella
  • curling up with my red fuzzy blanket and a good book
  • writing a letter to a friend
  • taking a nap while listening to the raindrops play music on my window pane
  • watching a classic movie, such as: my fair lady, sabrina, or the sound of music
  • drinking a hot cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea
  • the smell of fresh rain
  • laughing at how prissy max gets when it's wet outside

what are some of your favorite things when it's raining?

finish yesterday, and be done with it.

Nina, the author of one of my favorite blogs Naturally Nina, posted this poem yesterday and it was very inspiring to me...so, I am posting it today. {you should go check out her blog...she always has wonderful things to say.}

finish yesterday, and be done with it. you have done what you could. some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. today is a new day. begin it well, and serenely, and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. this day is all that is good and fair. it is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays. - adapted from ralph waldo emerson

Yesterday wasn't the best day ever for me, but today is a new day. And it is raining this morning which is so very comforting and seems to wash away the worries of yesterday even more.

p.s. i love my husband! and after today he will only have one final left and he will be finished with this semester. yay! :)
