I think I can safely venture out there and guess that I'm not alone when I say that I'm a perfectionist. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to myself. I don't mind if other people aren't perfect, that's silly to expect. But I don't like to mess up, and when I do...I'm not easy on myself.

The other day I heard a quote by photographer Dane Sanders that really inspired and encouraged me:

Trade in perfectionism for excellence. With perfectionism, it mandates that you never fail, and that's a pretty tough standard to live up to. But with excellence, it mandates that you fail over and over and over again. If you follow that recipe, you're going to land at the kind of excellence that you can only find through trial and error. You do that, and you're going to find yourself in a winning position.
