On Wednesday Jonathan and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary. We both took off from work so we could spend the entire day together! Jonathan had the whole day planned out with surprises for me...I love surprises! :)
After a lazy morning at home, we started our outing by having brunch at the famous Loveless Cafe. This was our first time going to Loveless even though we've been wanting to go for quite some time now...and it definitely didn't disappoint! Loveless has been around since 1951 and is tucked away in a rural part of Nashville. It's known for it's quaint rustic charm and for their homemade biscuits, preserves, and ham!
It was soooooo good! We've now added it to our list of Nashville favorites.
After brunch we walked around and did some shopping in Hillsboro Village and The Gulch.
Next stop: downtown for some dessert at Mike's Ice Cream on Broadway. This is another spot that we've been wanting to try out for quite some time now...and we finally did! It was a pretty tasty, refreshing treat on a hot summer day.
Once we finished our ice cream we walked up and down Broadway checking out some of the fun (somewhat touristy) shops there. Our absolute favorite was Hatch Show Print. They make all of these beautiful hatch show print posters using antique wood and metal typefaces. It was really cool to see!
After walking around for quite some time, we were pretty exhausted...so we went home and rested for a while. (definitely a plus to living 5 minutes from downtown!)
I don't have anymore pictures from the day...but after we were rested we headed back out for a delicious dinner at P.F.Changs, spent some time browsing Border's (we LOVE book stores!), and competed in a healthy competitive game of Mario Kart Wii. :)
It really was a perfect day together.
Thanks everyone for all of the happy anniversary wishes! It was very happy indeed!
